On Thursday, September 27, 2012, Texas Department of Transportation awarded a $1 billion dollar project and announced that this project would create "thousands" of jobs in Texas.

This is great news for Texans.  Therefore, in order to ensure these jobs are filled by Texans, citizens, and those legally authorized to work in the U.S., we are partnering with Houston Eagle Forum and The Texas Workforce Commission.

During the meeting, HEF and TWC representatives urged TxDOT to hire veterans, Texans, and those legally authorized to work in the United States; and to assure compliance from all corporations on all levels, such as sub-contractors.

We encourage the hiring of our veterans who have experience building bridges, hospitals, roads, power plants, schools, etc., while serving our country.
